Zhang Ping and Zhang Shouzhong exchanged a look. Neither could believe it.

This desert was too strange. One moment, the sun had been blazing overhead; the next, darkness had fallen.

Zhang Shouzhong felt the temperature dropping fast. Deserts had a big difference between day and night temperatures, but it shouldn't have grown cold this quickly.

A short while later, they reached a dune. Looking down from its crest, they saw countless red flowers blooming across the desert, like spider lilies along the road to the Yellow Springs. The sight was almost dreamlike.

"This... looks familiar." Zhang Shouzhong frowned at the red flowers below.

Zhang Ping said, "That Medium Flame Scorpion's tail opened like that earlier, remember? If I'm right, Flame Scorpions bury themselves in the sand at night. Only their tails stick out, blooming like flowers to absorb heat from their surroundings."

Through Flame Eater, he could sense heat flowing downward. The Flame Scorpions' tails were absorbing every bit of it.

"Then why don't they do it during the day?" Zhang Shouzhong asked.

"How would I know? Why don't you interview a Flame Scorpion?" Zhang Ping replied.

He pulled a Flame Scorpion out of the sand with Psychokinesis. It immediately thrashed wildly. Zhang Ping brought it in front of them and grinned. "Go on. Interview it."
