In the Dream World, heaps of dried Mutated Beast corpses lay before Nameless, with Wish Fruits growing from them.
He walked among them like an orchard keeper, picking fruit as he went. He kept the useful ones and tossed the garbage aside.
Before he knew it, he had moved through several Parallel Worlds and caught nearly everyone in the Beast-Taming Zhu Family several times over.
So far, the best Wish Fruit had come from Zhu Taihao, head of the Beast-Taming Zhu Family. It was called the Prosperity Fruit. Once consumed, it strengthened the abilities of the eater's blood relatives, and that strengthening was not one-way: it spread back and forth through the whole family.
The more relatives they had, the greater their power. The greater their power, the more their relatives benefited, and the whole thing kept snowballing.
In other words, if someone who loved having children ate this fruit, they really might build an incomparably powerful Lineage.
But Nameless had yet to decide who would be best suited to eat it.
The main problem was that everyone on the Rescue Team was busy with rescues and countless other matters. Many were still childless in their fifties or sixties; some were nearly eighty and still all alone.
The fruit was powerful, but its greatest problem was the lack of a suitable candidate.
Nameless picked another Wish Fruit, already preparing to call it "garbage." By now, he was used to most Wish Fruits being worthless.
But just as he was about to throw it away, he froze. Then he looked at the fruit in his hand again.
It was golden and shaped like a pineapple.
"Looks like I finally got a good one."
Nameless murmured to himself after a long moment.
