Night fell!
The entire island abruptly fell silent. The surviving students were no fools; they had long since found relatively safe places to hide, quietly waiting for the trial to descend.
Rustle, rustle...
Martin had his eyes closed when his ears suddenly twitched. His eyes slowly opened. Something was climbing up from beneath the cliff.
He swiftly adjusted his posture and looked down. In the next instant, his eyes widened. The sea below was covered in densely packed white bones. Whenever these bones touched the island, ghostly green flames burst from their skulls, and one after another, they all came alive.
They were climbing onto the island, clearly not planning to make friends with the students.
"Playing dead probably won't work."
Martin immediately left the recess and climbed upward faster than the skeletons.
He did not dare gamble on whether playing dead would work. The recess was too narrow. If playing dead was useless against the skeletons, he would be trapped inside it. At that point, no matter how strong he was, he would not be able to defeat the skeletons, because there would be no room for him to use his strength.
As soon as he climbed onto the cliff, he saw a great number of white ghosts floating through the forest ahead.
These white ghosts looked as though they were draped in white rags, drifting back and forth through the forest as if searching for the living.
Ever since shouldering the blood-deep hatred of the Sea of Blood, Martin was no longer as innocent and lively as before. Even so, seeing this scene still made him want to curse.
This Virtual Battlefield had gone too far!
He took a deep breath, then quickly began running, doing his utmost to avoid the ghosts around him while considering a way
