Martin Decided to Take a Gamble

"You failed to notice something."

Martin looked at the Horse-Faced Evil Beast and Hadi, then asked Momo.

Without waiting for Momo to answer, he continued on his own, "That horse-faced Evil Beast has a clear level and health bar above its head, but that wolf doesn't."

"Could it be because we were tasked with tracking down and investigating the Horse-Faced Evil Beast?" Momo had noticed it too, but she had not thought much of it before.

An Evil Beast was an Evil Beast. What did it matter whether its health bar showed up or not?

Perhaps once they exposed themselves, the Evil Beast's health bar would automatically appear.

Martin narrowed his eyes and shook his head. "No. I have a feeling that Master sent me to investigate the Evil Beast because of that wolf."

"Don't tell me he wants you to tame it as a pet? Keep dreaming," Momo said with a laugh.

The gap in strength between Martin and Hadi was far too great. Even if Hadi stood still and let Martin tame him, Martin probably still would not succeed.

"No, it probably isn't taming. There must be another way." Martin shook his head, but he had no idea what that way was. Watching Hadi's restraints tighten bit by bit, he felt an increasing sense of urgency.

Momo did not believe Martin. His spiritual power was not particularly strong, so it was unlikely that he possessed abilities like foresight or premonition. Those were exclusive to mages.

She smiled. "Then make your decision quickly, or your wolf is going to die."

"Then we move!" Martin finally made up his mind.

Momo immediately looked surprised. "You're serious?"

"We have to act!" Martin gritted out.

By the lakeside, the battle had already ended.
