The nine great Heavenly Venerables created the Nine Secrets, their might shaking all ages.
Ge Hong, the Baopuzi, an outstanding figure among Earthlings, once said:
"Enter a famed mountain on an opening or removal day of the jiazi cycle, hang five-colored silks, each five inches long, upon a great rock, and whatever you seek shall be obtained. He also said: when entering, one should know the Six Jia Secret Incantation: Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Shu, Zu, Qian, Xing. These nine words should always be recited in secret, and nothing shall fail to be warded off."
Simply reciting these nine words silently could ward off all evil, showing just how profound the Nine Secrets were.
Among them, Nine Secrets: Zu was created by Lingbao Tianzun, whose mastery of formation diagrams was unrivaled throughout history. Thus, this secret was also called Nine Secrets: Formation.
Nine Secrets: Shu stood shoulder to shoulder with Nine Secrets: Xing. One represented boundless space, free of all restraints; the other represented endless time, roaming its long river. Nine Secrets: Shu was later obtained by Liezi of the Dao Sect. Liezi rode the wind, so it was also called Nine Secrets: Lie.
Thus, the Nine Secrets were also recited as: Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Zhen, Lie, Qian, Xing.
But whichever words were used, they always began with Nine Secrets: Lin, which came from the most ancient Tribulation Transcending Heavenly Venerable.
This secret governed the transformation of the flesh. Duan De had created it based on the Reincarnation Seals from each of his lifetimes. It could turn decay into wonder and transform mortals into immortals.
This secret represented remaining unmoved when confronted with events, a Dao Heart unshaken through the ages, and a physical body enduring forever.
Just like Duan De, whose body underwent tribulation crossing lifetime
