History

Li Zhaoning transferred Chen Chong to World-Aiding Hall as deputy chief steward after recognizing his conduct during the refugee relief effort. She assigned him the confidential task of watching the hall’s chief steward, Wang Zheng, whom she suspected of misconduct 13.

When Chen arrived, a smiling steward provided him with newly prepared private quarters and an excellent pill furnace, while Wang Zheng conspicuously declined to greet him in person. The hall’s scale, prosperity, and polished hospitality immediately contrasted with the political tension beneath its surface 14.

Chen’s refinement of superior True Martial Pills transformed the hall’s business.
