When Si Telan defeated the Twin Gargoyles alone, she could obtain nearly a thousand souls.
When she teamed up with others, the number of souls dropped by the Twin Gargoyles remained unchanged, but they were divided equally among everyone who participated in the battle. In other words, the more people entered the dungeon together, the fewer souls each person received.
Perhaps this mechanism was meant to encourage adventurers to grind levels alone?
But that was far too dangerous and would only lead to more deaths.
The first time Si Telan served as a helper, she had been summoned by a Bronze Rank adventurer squad with only two surviving members. The two had already run out of supplies and were considering giving up when they happened to use a Crooked Finger Summoning Potion and discovered a Summon Sign.
Saved from the brink of despair, the two had nearly cried tears of gratitude when they saw their helper.
Si Telan helped them defeat the Twin Gargoyles. Logically, after the souls were split among three people, she should have received around three hundred.
Yet that day, she received over nine hundred!
A full three times as much—almost the same as defeating the Twin Gargoyles solo!
She wanted to ask how many souls the other two had received, but they were beginners among beginners. They had not even cleared the Swamp Area, much less found the bonfire in the Plague Village area.
Later, after many more experiments, she finally reached a conclusion—
When a helper assisted a summoner in killing monsters, they could randomly receive one to five times the souls!
If she could trigger the soul multiplier several times during an assist, her leveling efficiency would be far greater than grinding monsters alone.
From then on, she fell in love with helping others.
