Actually, before Li Wei invented the Hero King Game Console, the daily entertainment of Hogwarts' young wizards had been rather limited.
The poor young wizards—what could they even play?
Nothing more than Wizard's Chess, Flash Cards, Gobstones, and the like!
There was no need to say much about Wizard's Chess. It was the wizarding version of chess, except every piece was alive, and sometimes they would even object to the player's moves.
Ron Weasley was an expert at it. With the set of Wizard's Chess passed down from his grandfather, he had been unbeatable throughout the school.
But ever since the Hero King Game Console came along, he barely played Wizard's Chess anymore!
Ron: "I don't know anything about Wizard's Chess. Stay out of my way—I'm the Hero King!"
As for Flash Cards, they were a bit like poker, except when a card was played, it emitted an intense flash that startled people half to death!
It was card-playing with special effects!
The Weasley Brothers loved playing Flash Cards most of all. They especially loved using the flashes from the cards to scare people out of their wits!
Then there were Gobstones, which were similar to marbles and played much the same way, except the loser got sprayed in the face with foul-smelling juice from the Gobstones!
Young wizards from the other Houses all thought Gobstones was a bit old-fashioned.
But the young wizards of Hufflepuff found the game very fun, since lots of people could play together!
However, just as mentioned before, these three games might once have been popular at Hogwarts, but after Li Wei's Hero King Game Console swept through Hogwarts, all three had been tossed into the trash heap!
