"...After you return, write a seven-inch essay and hand it in before the next class."
As Charms drew to a close, Professor Flitwick assigned homework and reminded them:
"If you practice on your own after class, be sure to stay safe. It would be best to wait until class before practicing spells."
"All right, everyone. See you next class!"
Charms was over. Li Wei stood up with his wand in hand and watched coldly as Malfoy and the other two chatted and laughed their way outside.
One look at them told him they felt absolutely no guilt about hurting others.
"Li Wei, what are you going to do?"
"Fighting at school and casting Jinx at classmates will get you detention!"
The moment Anthony and Michael saw Li Wei's expression, they knew he was about to make a move and hurriedly tried to dissuade him.
Although the two of them had suggested taking action during class, when it came time to actually do it, they were somewhat intimidated by the school rules.
But what Li Wei had not expected was that, after trying to stop him, his two roommates immediately began offering advice.
"Don't be rash. We can hide and ambush him. That way, he won't know who attacked him, and we can teach him a proper lesson!"
"Even if Malfoy figures out who did it, as long as we aren't caught, it won't count as breaking school rules."
"The three of us can act together and give Malfoy and his lot a thorough beating!"
Hearing their suggestions, Li Wei could not help but sigh inwardly. As expected of Ravenclaw—they really were clever!
But since he had already decided to act on impulse for once, there was no need to plan everything out first.
Not only because he did not want to drag anyone else into this, but also because, in certain people's eyes, he needed to act like a child!
"No. If I have a grudge, I'll settle it on the spot!"
Li Wei shook his head firmly. Without even packing up his books, he gripped his wand and strode outside.
This was going to end badly!
Michael and Anthony exchanged a glance. Worried that Li Wei would be at a disadvantage, one went to find a professor while the other immediately followed after him.
"...Hahaha, you should've seen that Mudblood's face when the bison scared him. It was hilarious!"
"What Ravenclaw notebook? He's just a bookworm!"
"The professor gives him a few points and he gets all excited. He's clearly never seen anything worthwhile!"
"If you ask me, Mudbloods born to Muggles shouldn't be allowed into Hogwarts!"
Malfoy, Goyle, Crabbe, and several like-minded Slytherins walked along, brazenly mocking Li Wei. Every last one of them praised Malfoy's Jinx that had summoned the bison.
But after walking only a short distance, they found Li Wei blocking their path in a courtyard.
"Get lost, Mudblood!"
Crabbe charged forward like a wild boar, cursing as he tried to knock Li Wei to the ground.
Li Wei did not even look at him. With a flick and a twist of his wand, Crabbe floated into the air like a balloon.
Seeing him desperately wave his wand without producing anything, it was obvious that after only two days of school, this fool had learned nothing at all!
"What are you doing, Lee Wickens? I'm warning you, this is Hogwarts! The professors will be here any moment!"
"If you get caught, you'll lose loads of points, maybe even get expelled! My father is Lucius Malfoy, a Hogwarts governor!"
Draco Malfoy no longer had the presence of mind to care about Crabbe, whom Li Wei had sent floating into the air.
Looking at Li Wei's icy expression and the wand in his hand blocking the way, Malfoy's little face went deathly pale as he continued issuing threats.
He looked just like a white ferret borrowing a tiger's might!
"Malfoy, I've always been curious. Where exactly does the so-called nobility of you Pure-Blood wizards lie?"
"Now I'll give you a chance to answer me!"
With a wave of his wand, Li Wei transformed a blade of grass by the roadside into a white glove and tossed it in front of Malfoy. Malfoy was so frightened that he even took a step back.
"I think you know what this means. Pick up the glove!"
His voice icy, he ordered Malfoy. Today, he was going to act on impulse!
Of course Malfoy knew what it meant.
Before the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy was enacted, wizards had often dealt with knights. Even now, suits of knightly armor stood all over Hogwarts Castle.
But Malfoy did not dare duel Li Wei. He had seen perfectly clearly just how terrifying Li Wei's silent spell had been.
Malfoy did not move, but Li Wei was beginning to lose patience. He ordered sharply:
"I told you to pick up the glove! Pick up the glove!!!"
As he spoke, he waved his wand. Malfoy's waist bent at a sharp angle as if it had been broken, forcing him under Li Wei's control to pick up the white glove in utter humiliation.
"Very good, Mr. Malfoy. Draw your wand!"
"I doubt you'll bow to me, and I loathe the thought of saluting you. How about counting down from three?"
"Three, two, one!"
Li Wei coldly spoke the three numbers, while Malfoy, on the verge of tears, had already cast a spell when Li Wei reached two!
"Rictusempra!"
A minor Jinx shot from Malfoy's wand straight at Li Wei!
Li Wei had long been on guard against that. He did not take Malfoy's spell seriously at all.
With a flick of his wand, he knocked the spell aside, then followed with an Expelliarmus, blasting Malfoy's wand away and sending him and his lackey Goyle up into the air as well.
"Waaah~"
All three of them had been scared into tears!
The fear produced by looking up from the ground and looking down from high above was completely different on an instinctive level.
Although Li Wei had only lifted them four or five meters into the air, Malfoy and the others felt that if they fell, they would surely be killed!
"Waaah~ Please, let us down!"
Malfoy had completely submitted!
They had not even had their flying lessons yet. How could they possibly have experienced anything this thrilling? They begged for mercy again and again.
"Apparently, Mr. Malfoy's theory of Pure-Blood nobility does not hold up very well!"
"I think you should enjoy the cool air up there and think carefully about how to speak to a wizard of ordinary birth like me."
Li Wei ignored Malfoy's pleas entirely. His voice cold, he casually cast a Transfiguration spell.
"Hey, what are you doing? Let Malfoy and the others down right now!"
The younger Slytherins who had been following Malfoy saw that things were going badly and immediately brought over some older Slytherin students.
"If you want them down, then take my wand from me!"
Li Wei looked at the furious upper-year Slytherins and spoke indifferently.
By the time Professor Flitwick and the other professors arrived, they were greeted by a spectacular sight:
Li Wei sat in one corner of the courtyard, leisurely reading the book in his hands, while the sky above the courtyard was filled with floating Slytherin students from every year.
Some had been disarmed, some were unconscious, some had already been petrified, while others had their bodies bound with ropes...
Their wands littered the ground, and none of them could dispel Li Wei's Levitation Charm. They could only float over the courtyard like kites, crying and wailing!
