It seemed something unexpected had happened.
The Mortal Domain actually had a way to alter the Sky-Piercing Pillars he launched.
What kind of method was that?
Why had he never seen it before?
But there was no time to think about that now.
"Boss!"
His Trusted Aide roared behind him, his expression twisted. "We've fallen into a trap! Give the order, now! Activate the 'Dig Three Feet' building at full power! Extract blackwater as quickly as possible, no matter the cost!"
"We'll fight to the death!"
He had told his boss long ago that this had gone a little too smoothly, but it was too late to bring that up now.
Falcon Continent had run out of eerie stones.
Literally run out.
Their reserves and every eerie stone held by the public, from Level-1 Eerie Stones to Level-10 Eerie Stones, were all gone.
Not a single one remained.
The Scales truly were a powerful building. Normally, even scouring an entire continent and digging three feet down would leave something behind, but the Scales had collected everything.
At this point, the war was already over.
They had no eerie stones to activate the "air-defense system." They only had some "blackwater," a high-level energy source. But high-level energy couldn't activate the Mysterious Heaven Propellers, so they couldn't escape either. Only one path remained.
Bite a chunk out of Eternal Night Continent before they died.
As the saying went, an emperor died defending his nation's gates.
That was their situation.
Defeat and death were already certain. All they could do before dying was bite back.
It was their only path.
