Director Bard carried a thick stack of documents from the safe and presented them to Leon with both hands.
"These contain most of the key experimental data, along with the research process and conclusions. Are you planning to use these materials to restart the research?"
Leon casually lifted the thirty-centimeter-thick bound documents and began flipping through them on the spot.
He said blandly, "No. I'm going to finish reading them now, then head to the Umbrella underground laboratory for the next stage of improvements."
"Finish them now?" Bard thought. Wouldn't that take forever?
Yet Leon's way of "reading" immediately made his eyes nearly pop out of their sockets.
That couldn't even be called reading. It was not even skimming.
Leon pinched one corner of the thick document stack and lifted it. When he slightly loosened his fingers, the pages immediately cascaded down like shuffled playing cards.
In two or three seconds, the thick stack had been "shuffled" through once.
Leon closed his eyes. A few seconds later, he pushed the documents back into Bard's arms.
"That's enough. Burn them."
"Okay... huh?" Bard stared dumbfoundedly, his gaze shifting between the documents in his arms and Leon's closed eyes.
"I mean, I've already read them and memorized them," Leon explained with his eyes still closed.
"But, but you flipped through the pages backward!"
Bard did not even question whether it was reasonable to read and memorize thirty centimeters of documents that quickly.
Just the fact that Leon had flipped through them from back to front was shocking enough!
"Just memorize all the text, then reverse the page numbers in your head. It's very simple." Leon still had his eyes closed.
Director Bard opened and closed his mouth.
He had no idea whether he should believe it or not.
In any case, he
