The sight of Gamil in such a strange state put Thanos instantly on guard.
"You're... Gamil?"
Why had Gamil turned green? Did Celestials get married, too?
Gamil looked up at Thanos and nodded weakly. "So it's you. Don't worry, though. He hasn't completely digested me yet."
A chill ran down Thanos's spine.
It sounded as though some being had eaten Gamil, who was now waiting to be digested.
"What happened?"
Gamil gave a bitter smile. "I'm dying, so there's no harm in telling you. That being of Ultimate Evil escaped his seal somehow, and the current guardian became his Host. We Celestials went to seal him away, and then... well, this happened."
Thanos was stunned.
Dying?
Gamil was one of the Celestials.
Apart from Above All, they stood at the very top of the Marvel Universe.
Thanos had thought the Celestials could handle an Avatar that held only one hundred-millionth of OBA's power.
He hadn't expected them to be wiped out.
No wonder Nemesis had warned him to run. Had she known the Celestials were gone?
"Is there a way to seal him again?"
Gamil's eyes lit up. "So Nemesis did come to you. Did she send you to find me? Does she have a way to seal him?"
Gamil had deliberately avoided saying who it was, yet Thanos hadn't asked. He had gone straight to asking how to seal him again. Someone had clearly told Thanos the truth.
And that someone could only be Nemesis.
Thanos shook his head helplessly. Gamil was still testing him, even now.
"We're facing a fight for survival. Enough with the games. Yes, Nemesis told me what happened, but she only told me to run. She didn't tell me how to seal him."
The light faded from Gamil's eyes.
"Even Nemesis has no way..."
