On Mount Everest, those who lacked the strength to fight could only look up at the sky and hope the fighters would return victorious.
Among them was the young Kronos. Huddled in his mother Gaia's arms, he gazed at the sky with complicated feelings.
He was Uranus's youngest son, and his feelings toward his father were far from simple.
He admired and hated him. He looked up to him, yet also looked down on him.
He admired his father's power, hated his unfaithfulness to his mother, respected his strength, and scorned his indecision.
Those tangled feelings had kept Uranus from noticing the rebellion taking shape in his son's heart, allowing Kronos to grow strong enough to overthrow him.
But that lay in the future, and right now, none of them knew whether they had a future at all.
As everyone waited anxiously, a Portal suddenly opened.
Agamotto emerged, looking exhausted.
At the sight of the White Sorcerer, Gaia hurried over and asked with worry written across her face, "How is the battle? Is Uranus all right?"
She had been strong enough to fight, but Uranus had felt there was no need for her to join this battle, so she had remained on Blue Star.
"He's fine."
Agamotto said no more to Gaia and walked toward the surrounding Sorcerers.
"Everyone, we're facing an unprecedented crisis. I have a risky plan. If it succeeds, it may ease the danger."
He had encountered the creatures of the Dark Dimension, but he had never studied them deeply. He did not know how strong they were or how many there might be.
He had begun to grasp the strength of their current enemy, so he only thought his plan might ease the crisis. He was not certain it could defeat them.
The Sorcerers
