A Celestial more than ten meters tall approached Thanos with a faint smile.

"Hello. We're good people. We're here to... uh... save the Multiverse."

The lie could hardly have been more obvious, but Thanos felt relieved. He pretended to believe it and put on a look of surprise.

"Wow, you're amazing! Real heroes. So, what's wrong with the Multiverse? Is it in danger?"

Apparently, these Celestials hadn't realized he had come with Exitar—or that Exitar was right outside.

That also told him these Celestials weren't very strong. Or at least, their Avatars weren't.

One question still bothered him.

Was his capture part of the Celestials' plan?

Had they deliberately brought him here to investigate these Celestials without alerting them?

If so, what little friendship he had with Exitar was probably about to vanish.

"Ahem..." The towering Celestial coughed twice in embarrassment, gathered his thoughts, and continued. "This Multiverse has been seized by a band of robbers. They're traitors to our kind who call themselves the saviors of this universe, yet they plunder and destroy it at will. They are the Celestials."

Thanos fought the urge to roll his eyes and said with a frightened look, "Really? The Celestials are that evil? That terrifying?"

"Absolutely. The Celestials are a blight on the universe, the very embodiment of treachery and filth. If their master weren't so powerful, we'd have killed them all long ago."

"Oh, I see. You're the heroes. What would you like me to do?"

The towering Celestial was about to speak again when another Celestial, seven or eight meters tall with a somewhat feminine build, could stand it no longer.

"Enough. Both of you can stop acting. We all know the mental conditioning failed.
