By the time Agamotto, Oshtur, Hoggoth, and Thanos arrived near the Titan Star System, everything there had returned to normal.
Quicksilver had already left with his troops. On Titan, the primitive Titans knew nothing of what had happened and had gone about their work as usual.
Before long, The Ancient One appeared before the four of them.
"My lord."
Thanos folded his arms and nodded when he saw The Ancient One. Then he asked nervously, "The Ancient One, nothing happened here, did it?"
As he spoke, he secretly watched the reactions of Agamotto, Oshtur, and Hoggoth.
The way he moved, the subtle look on his face—everything about him seemed like someone who had covered his tracks and was afraid of being found out.
At his words, The Ancient One glanced cautiously at the three gods, then shook her head nervously. "Everything is normal, my lord."
The moment she finished speaking, Oshtur flew forward and fixed her with a hard stare.
"You're not The Ancient One! Who are you?"
They were connected to this universe's Ancient One by a thread of faith. Yet they had no such connection to the woman before them. Her soul and body seemed genuine, but she was not the Ancient One they knew.
The Ancient One said nothing. She simply looked calmly at Thanos.
Thanos immediately spoke up. "If she isn't The Ancient One, who else could she be?"
Agamotto's face twisted with anger. "Do you take me for a fool? You think we can't tell whether she's The Ancient One?"
Thanos waved his hands in a panic. "Maybe she's the one who killed your Ancient One. Take her away and investigate properly."
Agamotto, Oshtur, and Hoggoth exchanged glances, then smiled knowingly.
This Ancient One was Thanos's subordinate, yet he had handed her over for them
