As time passed, the energy gathered into a circle, then began battering everything around it.
With a hum, space slowly cracked like glass.
At the sight, Darkseid sprang to his feet in excitement.
"Hahaha... I finally did it! Source, here I come!"
As the DC Universe's most notorious tyrant, he had fought Highfather's New Genesis, waged war against the Green Lantern Corps, battled the Anti-Monitor, and ultimately destroyed the entire Justice League.
He was born for battle and war.
All his life, he had either been fighting or marching toward his next fight. His victories were countless, and his defeats almost nonexistent.
Yet even that had never satisfied him.
Ever since obtaining the Omega Beams, he had somehow known that far more powerful beings existed in the Multiverse.
There were the Fourth-Dimensional Gods, the Sixth-Dimensional Gods, and the Source from which all things came.
His destiny was to bring it all to an end and become the strongest being in the Multiverse.
Now that goal was before him, almost within reach.
Superman slowly descended beside Darkseid and said in a flat voice, "Congratulations, master."
"Hahaha..."
After laughing, Darkseid fixed his gaze on the circular archway.
He also ordered Flash to run faster and generate more energy.
A while later, as space continued to crack, it seemed to reach a breaking point. With a crack, it shattered.
Just then, a huge purple hand emerged from the space within the archway.
Darkseid and Superman tensed at the sight.
They knew space was at its most unstable right now, yet someone had reached through without the slightest regard for the Space Rift.
That meant the rift posed no threat to whoever was on the other side.
Not far away, Flash stumbled and fell, worn down by prolonged running and malnutrition.
The archway's energy
