Against Thanos at full strength, Daoist Ziyun had virtually no way to fight back.
Especially once Thanos transformed into Eden and became a world.
Only then did he understand why Thanos had built Eden inside another world instead of in the endless void.
Built that way, Eden was not a complete world and could merge with him.
Of course, building it inside another world meant surrendering most of its Origin Power, so most people would never do it.
But now Thanos had put that choice to unexpected use, utterly suppressing him.
As Daoist Ziyun was slowly absorbed, Darkseid's movements not far away began to slow. He even shoved Nemesis aside with one palm strike and stopped fighting her.
After watching for a moment, he said nothing, but the energy around him began to recede.
Clearly, he knew he could not win, so he chose to withdraw.
Nemesis looked at Thanos.
"Should I stop him?"
"No. If he wants to leave, let him."
Darkseid was, after all, a ruler of the DC World. Though he had not reached the level of Above All, he was still powerful.
Thanos had no reason to make an enemy of him at such a critical moment.
Darkseid drew back the last of his energy without seeing Thanos make a move, and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"As thanks, I'll give you a piece of information for free. Your Marvel's First Firmament has joined forces with the Beyonders."
With that, Darkseid vanished.
Thanos showed no reaction to the news. He focused entirely on absorbing Daoist Ziyun.
I'm about to leave Marvel and become a world in my own right. Whatever happens to Marvel from now on has nothing to do with me.
So its ultimate fate is no concern of mine either.
