After winter set in, the days in the Northeast Region grew shorter and shorter.
Mu Yun checked his phone. It wasn't even five yet, but the sky was already dark.
Fortunately, he traveled fast. Despite the long delay that morning, he reached the foot of a mountain before night fell completely.
This had once been the Abandoned Mine Vein. There were huge open-pit mines and tunnels of every size.
Some were temporary shelters dug by people; others were dens dug by Rock-type Pokémon that once lived here.
Of course, after the mining, barely one in a hundred of those Pokémon remained.
Most had sensed trouble and moved elsewhere. A few stubborn ones had been caught by the construction crew's Trainers and handed over to the Trainer Association.
As a result, Pokémon were rarely seen here anymore.
Rock-type Pokémon could survive by eating dirt, but they preferred ore containing other elements.
Naturally, they had no reason to stay in this abandoned place.
"We'll make do here for the week."
With a bright flashlight in hand, Mu Yun soon found a cave that wasn't particularly large.
That was only compared with the enormous mine tunnels nearby. The cave was actually over ten meters high; even an Onix could pass through without trouble.
"Namikaze, use Defog."
Defog was a Flying-type status move that could blow away special barriers such as an opponent's Reflect and Light Screen.
The unusual wind also had a remarkable cleaning effect. Out in the wild, it could blow away debris and leave a relatively clean area.
Thanks to Pokémon, people could have a comfortable place to stay even in the wilderness.
A high-level Grass-type Pokémon could even build a temporary treehouse on the spot. You'd have a roof over your head wherever you went.
"Bee!"
Namikaze flapped his wings,
