First Cooperative Battle

Gao Tao pointed at several of his teammates and added, "The numbers are just right for us to hunt them. And wherever beast hordes gather, quite a few treasures are usually born—ores containing Origin Laws, heavenly treasures, and the like. We can make a profit too."

"Alright, we'll start here." Zhou Yuan and the other four exchanged glances, then agreed to Captain Gao Tao's plan.

Five World Lord-level ferocious beasts were dangerous, but with the six of them joining forces, they should be able to handle them easily as long as their tactics were sound.

Around the pool, several hundred giant bears, each at least a hundred meters tall, lay lazily on the ground. Some licked their paws, while others frolicked with one another, looking rather relaxed.

At the very center of the pool, a giant bear more than a thousand meters tall lay sleeping. Its body was as huge as a small mountain, its fur as tough as steel, and it emitted the terrifying aura of a World Lord peak.

Not far from that giant bear, two slightly smaller bears, though each still more than a thousand meters tall, played on either side of it. Their auras had both reached the World Lord level, so they were clearly the leader's capable subordinates.

"Suo Lin, you specialize in stealth and assassination. Scout ahead and see what treasures are there. Don't let them get destroyed during the battle," Captain Gao Tao instructed, giving Suo Lin a meaningful look.

Suo Lin had previously explained that the Light Origin Law she specialized in excelled at concealment and stealth, making her the best candidate to scout the situation.

Suo Lin nodded, and her figure instantly transformed into a shadow as she silently slipped into the valley.

She darted between the trees, nearly blending into the surroundings. Even Zhou Yuan found it difficult to detect her presence.

Soon, Suo Lin had infiltrated to a spot several dozen kilometers from the pool. Any closer, and she could no longer guarantee that the ferocious beasts would not sense her.

Suo Lin did not dare fly for fear of leaking her aura. She climbed directly to the top of a tree. For a World Lord, seeing tiny details across several dozen kilometers was easy.

"Captain, I found seven Water Essence Grass plants in the pool." Suo Lin spotted the treasure in the pool through the trees and informed her teammates through the Virtual Universe.

"Understood. Stay hidden. I'll arrange the upcoming battle assignments," Gao Tao said, suppressing his excitement.

Water Essence Grass was a water-attributed treasure that could enhance one's comprehension of the Water Origin Law for one hundred years after use.

Each Water Essence Grass was worth around ten Hunyuan units. For them, it was an excellent start.

"Suo Lin, sneak to the other side later. Be careful not to get discovered. Once we lure away the World Lord-level ferocious beasts, quickly harvest the Water Essence Grass." Gao Tao assigned Suo Lin's task first.

"I'll handle the frontal assault, while Zhou Yuan assists with control. The two of us will kill the World Lord fifth-level ferocious beast on the left first." Gao Tao looked at Zhou Yuan as he spoke.

Ka En specialized in defense and used a blade and shield. He was also at the World Lord eighth level, enough to withstand a World Lord peak ferocious beast for a while.

Ka En nodded in agreement without speaking.

"Mu Feng, you're a spirit reader. Keep the two ferocious beasts on the right—the World Lord fifth and sixth levels—occupied," Gao Tao said, turning to Mu Feng.

"Understood, Captain," Mu Feng promptly confirmed. He wielded psychic weapons and excelled in group combat, so keeping two World Lord-level ferocious beasts around his own level occupied would be easy.

"Yun Yan, handle the World Lord seventh-level ferocious beast on the left by yourself. If you can't hold on, call Zhou Yuan for help." Captain Gao Tao continued with the final assignment for Yun Yan.

Yun Yan was only at the World Lord sixth level after all, a full level below the World Lord seventh-level beast. Captain Zhou Tao was worried that he would not be able to withstand it.

"Alright, Captain," Yun Yan agreed.

"Suo Lin, support Mu Feng immediately after harvesting the Water Essence Grass. Notify us once you're in position," Captain Gao Tao said, making the final arrangements.

"Captain, I'm already in position." Before long, Suo Lin had moved into place.

"Received. Ka En, Mu Feng, Yun Yan, Zhou Yuan—we charge!" After saying that, Captain Gao Tao took the lead, openly revealing himself as he charged through the air toward the valley.

The giant bears in the valley instantly sensed the five men's auras. Their previously leisurely demeanor vanished as they became violently agitated.

Then, the giant bear leader charged toward Zhou Yuan's group with several hundred giant bears in tow.

"Good timing!" Ka En shouted, raising his earthen-yellow shield to block it.

Boom! The giant bear leader's paw struck the shield with an earthshaking crash. Ka En was sent flying like a cannonball, smashing into a massive tree at the edge of the valley and instantly reducing it to splinters.

"Ka En!" Everyone cried out and rushed toward him.

"I'm fine!" Ka En climbed out of the pile of rubble.

"Don't mind me! Follow the plan!" Ka En shouted, charging at the giant bear leader again. Dense Earth Origin Law fluctuations radiated from his earthen-yellow shield, forming a sturdy defensive barrier.

On the other side, Gao Tao and Zhou Yuan also rushed toward the World Lord fifth-level giant bear on the left.

This giant beast stood over a thousand meters tall, its entire body covered in black fur as hard as steel. Seeing Gao Tao and Zhou Yuan, it let out a roar and swiped its massive paw toward Gao Tao.

Without waiting for Captain Zhou Tao's command, Zhou Yuan immediately unleashed Zhenkong Slash.

The Zhenkong Blade in his hand swung out. Its earthen-yellow blade radiated dense Earth Origin Law and Space Origin Law fluctuations as a massive blade light slashed toward the giant bear.

The giant bear sensed the threat and tried to dodge, but an overwhelming suppressive force slowed it down until it was practically crawling.
