Luo Feng walked over, and the black-robed stele guardian, who had been sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed, opened them as well. He had only one eye and looked rather strange.
"Junior Galaxy, the newly appointed Domain Lord of the Nine Regions, pays his respects to Senior." Luo Feng looked at the black-robed old man before him. He had one eye, one nose, and one mouth, but no ears. His dark-cyan skin was covered in wrinkles, and his appearance did not conform to human aesthetics. Luo Feng even found him somewhat ugly.
The stele guardian's single eye examined Luo Feng. His voice sounded rather strange as he spoke: "Galaxy, the newly appointed Domain Lord of Canglan Domain, I have your records here. There happens to be no one inside now, so go in. Remember, you only have ten thousand epochs. Study it well!"
As he spoke, the stele guardian casually pointed into the void. A hazy passage appeared directly in front of Luo Feng. It was the entrance to the Primal Chaos Stele.
"Thank you, Senior." Luo Feng bowed, then turned and walked toward the passage.
As Luo Feng entered, the hazy passage and Luo Feng completely vanished from the outside world's view.
Luo Feng only felt the world spinning around him. When he could see clearly again, the scene before him had undergone a tremendous transformation. He was now inside a vast space.
It was an empty and clean space. The surroundings were all stone walls—the inner walls of the Primal Chaos Stele.
Luo Feng focused on his surroundings and could not help being stunned.
The inner walls of the Primal Chaos Stele formed one enormous continuous painting, with every part of the walls included in its scope. In the mural, the closer something was to the bottom, the clearer it became. The higher it went, the more blurred it grew. Luo Feng could not even see or sense the contents above, as though the lower parts were the foundation, and only after understanding them would one be qualified to look higher.
At the upper sections, there were only faint traces containing fluctuations of time, which Luo Feng seemed barely able to sense.
"Manifestation of Laws?" Luo Feng shifted his gaze to the lower part of the mural and simply focused on what he could see clearly.
At the bottom of the stone wall, endless golden-red secret patterns covered the surface. Each secret pattern resembled a tiny spark, and as countless secret patterns overlapped, Luo Feng felt as though he were seeing blazing flames burning wildly. Countless sparks had formed a sea of fire as vast as an ocean.
This was clearly the Law of Fire.
It was like the origin of fire Luo Feng had observed in the Origin Sea of the Primal Universe. What he saw was the manifestation of the Law of Fire. Even without comprehending the Law of Fire, one could understand it easily at a glance. For a mural to manifest Laws required extremely high comprehension and attainment. Such a method was truly terrifying.
Comprehending Laws here was probably close to the speed of comprehending them in the Origin Sea of the Primal Universe.
"The methods of You Mountain God King are indeed formidable."
Luo Feng shifted his gaze to the right. Adjacent to the Law of Fire was dark-golden "earth patterns." Each secret pattern was like a tiny grain of soil, and countless grains gathered together to form a vast and heavy land. Farther to the right, he could see the Law of Metal, whose golden radiance flickered above the land. Within the secret-pattern painting of the Law of Metal were incomparably sharp swords and sword light shooting into the sky, long spears thrusting upward with their shadows, arrows released from their strings, and mountains of blades with blade light flashing everywhere. This was the manifestation of the Law of Metal.
The Law of Metal was sharp, firm, and unyielding.
Farther right, sword light became mist and rain, spear shadows became mist and torrential rain, and blade light resembled mist and flowing water.
The fine rain gradually changed from threads of rain to droplets, then to torrential rain, and finally to surging rivers, great lakes, and seas.
The secret-pattern painting of the Law of Water consisted of countless patterns resembling strands of rain, forming an enormous world of rain. To the right of this world, the rain gradually weakened. Under the drizzling rain, the water was like a spring of life, nourishing the growth of all things. Countless plants brimming with life appeared, from tiny green sprouts and blades of grass to towering trees.
The Law of Wood was completely manifested through these living things—the green sprouts, grass, and trees. Every sprout and every leaf was entirely depicted through secret patterns of Laws. Every vein was clear in each stroke. With one glance, one could see the true essence.
Farther right from the Law of Wood, withered yellow blades of grass, leaves, and trees ignited with scattered sparks. Bit by bit, the flames gathered. Each spark was a secret-pattern painting, and endless sparks burned into a great fire, forming an incomparably enormous world of flames—a sea of fire.
This was the extent of it.
Fire gave birth to earth, earth gave birth to metal, metal gave birth to water, water gave birth to wood, and wood gave birth to fire. Fire, earth, metal, water, and wood had formed a cycle. Luo Feng's gaze had returned to the starting point, circling from the fire in the painting and coming back to the fire.
Metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—the five Laws were connected to one another. Wood gave birth to fire, fire gave birth to earth, earth gave birth to metal, metal gave birth to water, and water ultimately gave birth to wood. Thus, metal, wood, water, fire, and earth formed a perfect cycle.
Apart from the five Laws of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, the cycle throughout the entire painting also contained manifestations of time everywhere, with manifestations of space to be found everywhere as well. Within each painting corresponding to a Law, it seemed that fierce winds blew and lightning struck. Light, meanwhile, pierced through the entire painting, filling every place with radiance.
The secret patterns of the Ten Fundamental Laws formed a painting of Laws, with every Law pointing directly to its essence.
Within the painting, apart from the manifested Ten Fundamental Laws, there was also the path of fusing the Ten Fundamental Laws. However, the secret patterns representing the fusion of Laws were much more obscure, complex, and profound. How fire gave birth to earth represented the fusion of the Law of Fire and the Law of Earth. How earth gave birth to metal represented the fusion of the Law of Metal and the Law of Earth...
The Ten Fundamental Laws were completely manifested and could be understood at a glance. But at the points where the Laws fused, even Luo Feng, though touched in his heart, found it difficult to understand them in such a short time.
The Five-Element Fundamental Laws formed a cycle, then fused with the other five Fundamental Laws. This was already the experience of Saint Transformation. The principles were easy to understand, but when one actually tried to fuse and comprehend them, it was far more difficult.
At this moment, seeing such a cycle, Luo Feng felt as though he had opened the door to the world.
"Impressive!" Luo Feng was completely enthralled by it.
He had already fully comprehended the Ten Fundamental Laws. What he needed to do now was integrate and fuse them.
The Primal Chaos Stele and the Primordial Boundary Tablet reflected one another. Under the ten-thousandfold acceleration in the Inheritance Space, Luo Feng's divine power incarnation continuously attempted methods of fusion.
The Primal Chaos Stele was different from the Primordial Boundary Tablet. The Primal Chaos Stele formed a painting through secret patterns, displaying the Ten Fundamental Laws and the mysteries after their fusion. Its entirety pointed toward how to fuse them into the Chaos Law. The Primordial Boundary Tablet, meanwhile, had been transformed from the Chaos Law. It itself represented the Chaos Law. It only contained the result—the answer—but not the process.
However, the two complemented each other. One contained the process, though the result could not yet be seen, while the other contained the result, which could in turn be used to verify the process.
Even so, comprehending the fusion of Laws was not as simple as comprehending Laws themselves.
With the ten-thousandfold acceleration, Luo Feng had to spend a considerable amount of time understanding every point of fusion. Some took a year, some a hundred years, and there were even some that took one hundred thousand years, one million years, or ten million years.
Once he understood something, the path became smooth. Whenever he reached a bottleneck, however, he would fall into a prolonged standstill.
In this state, Luo Feng did not feel the passage of time at all. All he thought about was experiencing the beauty of this great fusion to the fullest, then fusing more Laws.
Time passed imperceptibly.
Before each time Luo Feng entered the Primal Chaos Stele, he had already been able to attempt fusing four of the Five-Element Fundamental Laws, though he had only grasped their superficial aspects. After nine thousand epochs had passed since he entered the Primal Chaos Stele—equivalent to ninety million epochs in the Inheritance Space—Luo Feng finally managed to perfectly fuse the four Fundamental Laws of metal, wood, water, and earth. Only the Law of Fire remained.
After fusing four Laws, Luo Feng naturally had the confidence to incorporate the fifth, the "Law of Fire."
Wood gave birth to fire, and fire gave birth to earth.
Luo Feng completely followed the Primal Chaos Stele's approach, analyzing and fusing the Laws accordingly. Jie Fanzi's approach was clearly wrong. Although water and fire could also be fused, that was ultimately not the great path.
Among the Ten Laws, some generated and restrained one another, yet they were also as perfectly integrated as one entity. In the end, they formed Primal Chaos, containing endless mysteries.
Luo Feng continuously attempted to fuse the Law of Fire. Before he knew it, the final thousand epochs had also passed...
"Human Galaxy, time is up. It's time to come out." The stele guardian's voice entered Luo Feng's mind.
Awakened from his state, Luo Feng could only stop his comprehension helplessly.
"I'm still far from it." Luo Feng shook his head, then followed the guidance toward the exit and left the Primal Chaos Stele.
During his ten thousand epochs in the Primal Chaos Stele—actually equivalent to one hundred million epochs—Luo Feng had completely fused the four most basic Five-Element Laws of metal, wood, water, and earth. He had also attempted to fuse a trace of the Law of Fire, but he was still far from complete fusion. This final Law of Fire not only had to complement the Law of Wood, but also the Law of Earth. At the same time, it could not disrupt the balance established by the original four Laws. The difficulty naturally increased geometrically.
The closer he came to the end of the fusion, the greater the difficulty became.
One had to understand that Luo Feng already possessed the answer and only needed to verify the process. Yet the difficulty was already so great, let alone for everyone else.
"If I had another trillion epochs, then with the Primal Chaos Stele as a reference, I should be able to achieve perfect fusion. Unfortunately, without the Primal Chaos Stele, I would probably need more than ten thousand times as much time." Luo Feng felt somewhat helpless. There was nothing he could do. After taking one last look at the Primal Chaos Stele, he could only leave for now.
The Primal Chaos Stele had left him with many thoughts that required time to organize. Thus, Luo Feng chose to return first to the residence arranged by the Nine Regions Palace instead of immediately attempting the Nine Dragons Tower.
Within the Five Dust Traveling Palace, Saint Lord Wuchen learned at the first opportunity that Luo Feng had emerged from the Primal Chaos Stele.
"Since Galaxy was able to emerge from the Primal Chaos Stele, it seems he isn't a spy from an enemy nation." Saint Lord Wuchen smiled. Newly appointed Domain Lords were granted the qualification to comprehend the Primal Chaos Stele precisely to test whether they were spies from an enemy nation. Once they entered the Primal Chaos Stele, with You Mountain God King's methods, they could naturally be identified with ease. If they were spies from an enemy nation, they would likely die without a chance of survival.
Knowing that Luo Feng was not a spy, Saint Lord Wuchen was quite happy, and even began to look forward to what would come next.
"He entered seclusion immediately after coming out of the Primal Chaos Stele. It seems he gained something. I hope he can bring me a pleasant surprise when he attempts the Nine Dragons Tower."
