Deep within Asgard
Frigga's chambers
Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, stood by the window, her expression troubled.
When she saw Thor enter with Xiao Han, surprise flashed through her eyes.
"Mother!" Thor strode forward. "I'm back. Loki has been restrained."
Frigga let out a sigh of relief, then her gaze fell upon Xiao Han. "And this is...?"
"Xiao Han, from Midgard," Thor introduced him.
"But he's no ordinary human. His strength... may even surpass mine."
Frigga nodded slightly and studied Xiao Han closely.
A moment later, she offered a gentle smile. "Welcome, Xiao. Thor rarely speaks so highly of anyone. You must be extraordinary."
Xiao Han nodded in greeting. "Your Majesty, I came to Asgard to learn your technology and magic."
Frigga looked thoughtful. "Asgard's knowledge is indeed vast, but not everyone can comprehend it."
"I can try," Xiao Han said calmly.
Frigga smiled. "Very well. I'll arrange for someone to take you to the library and the workshops. But before that..."
She looked at Thor. "How is your father?"
Thor's expression darkened. "Odin's Sleep has not ended yet, but Loki's scheme has been stopped, and the crisis at the Bifrost has been resolved. He should awaken soon."
Frigga nodded, then said to Xiao Han, "Xiao, if you truly wish to learn Asgard's knowledge, perhaps you should begin with the theory of the World Tree."
"The World Tree?" Xiao Han raised a brow.
"It is the foundation of the Nine Realms and the source of all our magic," Frigga explained.
"If you can understand it, you can understand Ben's essence of Asgard."
Interest flashed in Xiao Han's eyes. "That sounds like exactly what I need."
The Asgardian Library
It was a magnificent golden hall, with countless ancient scrolls and metal tomes lining its towering bookshelves.
Xiao Han stood in the center and looked up. Super-Sight allowed him to instantly scan the contents of the entire library.
"The knowledge here covers the history, magic, technology, and wars of the Nine Realms..."
Thor introduced it proudly. "Even I haven't finished reading a tenth of it."
Xiao Han walked to one of the shelves and casually pulled down a Ben metal tome.
His fingertips lightly touched the pages as Super Brain began rapidly analyzing the words and symbols within.
"Your runic system is interesting," Xiao Han murmured. "They are not merely words. They also contain energy."
Thor was astonished. "You can understand them?"
Xiao Han did not answer and simply continued reading.
His learning speed far exceeded that of ordinary people. A single glance at each page was enough for him to fully understand and memorize its contents.
A few minutes later, he closed the book, his eyes glinting with thought. "So that's how it is. Asgardian magic is essentially another way of using cosmic energy—Ben's essence."
Thor scratched his head. "Uh... more or less?"
Xiao Han set the book down and looked at Thor. "Take me to your technological workshop. I want to see your forging techniques."
Thor grinned. "No problem! As it happens, our master craftsman, Eitri, has just forged a batch of new weapons!"
Nidavellir
The dwarven realm
Through the Bifrost, Xiao Han and Thor arrived in the dwarves' forging world.
Here, lava churned while enormous stellar rings encircled a dying star. The dwarves used the star's energy to forge divine weapons.
"Thor!"
The booming voice of Eitri, the dwarf king, rang out. "What brings you here? And who's the stranger?"
"This is Xiao, from Midgard," Thor introduced him.
"He's very interested in your forging techniques."
Eitri gave Xiao Han a few appraising looks and said gruffly, "A mortal? Can he withstand the temperature here?"
Xiao Han smiled faintly and walked straight to the edge of the forge.
The blazing heat had no effect on him. Even the hem of his clothes did not catch fire.
Eitri narrowed his eyes. "Interesting..."
Xiao Han observed the dwarves' forging process. Super-Sight let him see the landing point of every hammer blow and the timing of every quench.
His mind analyzed everything at high speed, and he quickly grasped the principles behind it.
"Your forging is not merely physical hammering," Xiao Han said.
"You also incorporate the energy pathways of the World Tree. That is why you can forge divine weapons."
Eitri was stunned. "How do you know that?"
Xiao Han did not explain. Instead, he walked toward an unworked piece of Uru. "May I try?"
Eitri hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "You may, but don't waste the material."
Xiao Han picked up a forging hammer, and golden light flashed in his eyes.
His movements were somewhat unfamiliar at first, but they soon became fluid.
Even more astonishingly, every blow was incomparably precise, with exactly the right amount of force.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Under his hammer, the metal gradually took shape, with energy faintly flowing within it.
Eitri stared in utter disbelief. "This... this is impossible! Even an Asgardian needs decades to master such a technique!"
Thor was equally shocked. "Xiao, what exactly are you?"
Xiao Han stopped and looked at the formed metal blade in his hand. "A learner," he said flatly.
Just then, a beam of golden light suddenly descended from the sky!
Thor abruptly looked up. "It's Father's summons! He's awake!"
Xiao Han set down the forging hammer and looked toward the sky. "It seems Odin wants to see me."
The royal throne room of Asgard
Odin sat upon the throne, his single eye fixed on Xiao Han as he entered.
His gaze was deep and commanding, as though it could see through everything.
"Visitor from Midgard," Odin said slowly.
"Your power is very unusual."
Xiao Han met his gaze openly. "My power belongs to me."
Odin fell silent for a moment before saying, "Thor told me that you saved Asgard and stopped Loki's mad plan."
"For that, I thank you."
Xiao Han nodded. "I merely did what I wanted to do."
"But you did not remain in Asgard solely to 'learn,' did you?" Odin's gaze sharpened.
Xiao Han did not avoid the question. "Knowledge is power, and power allows me to better control my own fate."
Odin stared at him for a long time before slowly leaning back against his throne. "Very well. You may remain and learn Asgard's knowledge. But remember..."
His voice was low. "Some secrets are not for mortals to touch."
Xiao Han smiled faintly. "Don't worry. I have no interest in secrets. I am only interested in truth."
The corners of Odin's mouth lifted slightly. "An interesting answer."
Xiao Han moved through Asgard's libraries, workshops, and even its halls of magic, absorbing knowledge with insatiable hunger.
He deciphered runic magic, understood the flow of the World Tree's energy, and even learned simple spatial teleportation techniques.
Everything he had seen had been committed to memory, ready to be recalled at any time.
At the same time, he sparred with Thor several times.
Their battles shook all of Asgard. The clashes between thunder and Heat Vision left the watching Asgardian warriors dumbfounded.
Frigga occasionally guided him personally in the use of magic, while Eitri never stopped praising his forging talent.
Loki was imprisoned in the dungeons, but Xiao Han could sense that his scheme was far from over.
Early morning
Xiao Han stood at the highest point of Asgard, looking down upon the Nine Realms.
"I've learned almost enough," he murmured to himself. "It's time to return to Earth."
Thor walked up beside him and handed him a cup of mead. "Leaving?"
Xiao Han accepted the cup and drained it in one gulp. "Yeah. There are still matters to deal with on Earth."
Thor grinned. "Next time you come, remember to bring some good Midgardian liquor."
Xiao Han smiled as well. "I will."
The light of the Bifrost flared once more, and Xiao Han vanished within the pillar of light.
When he opened his eyes again, he was already standing on a street in New York.
Dark clouds filled the sky, while sirens and explosions sounded in the distance.
Xiao Han looked up toward Stark Tower, the corner of his mouth lifting.
"Looks like I came back at just the right time."
