In absolute nothingness, there was no point of reference. Time and space had lost all meaning.
Wanda floated silently, holding a sleeping girl in her arms.
She could feel that this child was the only survivor in the universe.
Several figures appeared beside her without a sound.
They were Xiao Han, Kara, Diana, and Koo Ja-yoon.
Apart from Xiao Han, the women no longer looked at ease. Their expressions had given way to admiration.
"What an... utter idiot."
In the end, Kara was the first to break the silence.
Her voice lacked its usual energy. It sounded hoarse instead.
"He had so many choices, but he picked the stupidest one."
"That wasn't stupidity, Kara," Diana said softly, looking at the girl in Wanda's arms.
"That was heroism."
"In a world where everyone had given up hope, he gave his life to protect its last glimmer. That's the highest honor a warrior can earn."
"He forced a game he was bound to lose to end by destroying himself," Koo Ja-yoon analyzed, arms crossed.
"Judging by the outcome, it really was the only way he could have won under those circumstances. Even if nothing was left."
"No. Something remains." Xiao Han's gaze settled on the girl.
He slowly reached out as if to touch her, but his hand stopped in midair.
"He left behind a seed," he said quietly.
"As long as that seed survives, this story isn't entirely a tragedy."
He turned to Wanda and asked,
"What are you going to do with her?"
Wanda lowered her eyes to the young face in her arms, its brow faintly furrowed by a nightmare.
She could clearly sense the child's soul. After witnessing so much death and despair, it had become terribly fragile, riddled with cracks.
"I'll give her a new home," Wanda
