Inside the cave.
Danitz looked at Sharron, then at Katarina.
Sharron sat in a well-lit spot, quietly reading. If not for the occasional turn of a page,
she would have looked just like an exquisite, lifeless doll.
Katarina had her eyes closed like an ascetic, seemingly praying.
She wore a white robe and looked so holy.
Yet there was always an intangible allure amid that holiness.
More than once, Danitz had felt the urge to pounce on her and ravish her.
To utterly shatter that air of sanctity.
His own impulses startled him.
A thought surfaced in his mind.
Had it been too long since I last went to the Red Theater?
Just then, he heard cheers coming from outside.
Danitz couldn't help walking over to a "window."
He saw Hunter Rayleigh surrounded by the people at the Resistance Army base.
He had no idea what Rayleigh had done.
Everyone was smiling, their eyes full of reverence.
They were all asking Rayleigh to look at them.
His popularity and the respect he commanded
far surpassed what Danitz received as the Sea God's Chosen One.
Danitz silently cursed, Shit.
Then he asked curiously, "What are they doing?"
"They are sharing in my Lord's glory."
At some point, the beautiful woman who resembled an ascetic had appeared beside him.
Danitz jumped.
Turning around, he saw Katarina say with an enraptured expression, "My Lord's flames shall one day blaze across the entire world!"
That expression.
Danitz had seen it on the Sea God's fanatical believers.
Now,
he saw it again on this woman's face.
One thought after another surfaced in Danitz's mind.
Was this woman a fanatical follower of Rayleigh?
What exactly had that bastard Rayleigh done?
Damn it!
He actually had two women this beautiful with him.
