The flame sat at the tip of a match and looked as though it was about to go out.
Everything they had experienced had been an illusion. Timothy and Gina were still on the city wall.
They remained in the positions they had assumed when they first climbed onto it.
Clearly, the source of the illusion was that burning match.
It was a spell.
The Little Match Girl!
Not far away, a fair-skinned woman wearing a hooded black robe patterned in purple flicked her wrist.
The flame on the match went out.
After extinguishing the match, the woman closed her eyes and split off a phantom image.
The image abruptly fell backward, as though falling into an invisible coffin.
Timothy instantly felt utterly exhausted. His eyes closed on their own, and he wanted nothing more than to lie down and sleep.
Under the influence of the spell Sleeping Beauty, he was about to fall asleep.
Suddenly, a cold wind swept through the surroundings, and transparent, icy phantoms pressed themselves against his body.
The blood-freezing chill instantly jolted Timothy awake.
But before he could do anything else, a figure appeared in each of his eyes.
She had brilliant blond hair and azure eyes.
It was Sharron, wearing a gold forehead ornament and a Gothic court dress.
