"We're different."
Demon Hunter Nefi said calmly, "We have our Lord's protection."
Perhaps remembering how the Lord of War had twice brought down divine punishment on the grassland, the guide unconsciously nodded.
Next.
The group began moving forward.
They ventured deeper into the ruins.
As they advanced, Sifa could clearly see through the Prayer Light Point.
Most of the slate-built houses in the ruins had collapsed. Even the stone pillars and monuments still standing.
Were covered in vines and moss.
Wild grass grew everywhere. These hardy plants had claimed the ground of the ruins and flourished inside the uninhabited houses.
The buildings here were simply designed. Most of the stone tools had survived, telling later generations of this city's past.
But most wooden implements had rotted away, and even some ironware had long since rusted.
Nefi casually picked up a heavily rusted iron spear from the grass. After examining it, she found that neither its material nor craftsmanship had anything commendable about it.
That was likely because they were currently at the edge of the city.
The people living here had been the city's lowest class.
They might even have been slaves.
Naturally, there would not have been fine materials or craftsmanship.
Beside some of the houses, they also found tombstones and coffins.
The tombstones had been badly eroded by vegetation, their surfaces covered in dark gray moss.
Dense white fuzz, visible to the naked eye, grew across the moss.
The guide from Black Cloud said, "This is moss that only appears in graveyards."
"And wherever this moss appears, there are usually ghosts and Zombies."
Nefi nodded and told the team to remain vigilant.
Then she looked toward the coffins behind the tombstones.
These coffins had not been buried underground.
Instead, they were left exposed on the surface.
