Sifa tipped back his head and poured the golden liquid from his glass down his throat, swallowing as a line of fire ran from his esophagus to his stomach.
He let out a breath, slapped down a few coins, and rose without a word, ready to leave.
"Wait."
The bartender hurriedly stopped him. "What are you doing?"
Sifa spread his hands. "Going back to the inn to sleep, of course. You lost the treasure map, so it looks like this mission is doomed to fail. I might as well save my energy and head back early."
Cyril, with brown hair and blue eyes, said helplessly, "Listen to me. Even though the treasure map is gone, I roughly know where we can look for it."
"The White Bear Gang. The treasure map must be in their hands!"
White Bear Gang
Sifa recalled the burly Feysac men he had seen at Champagne Estate yesterday, then looked at the bartender, waiting for an explanation.
Cyril set down his glass. "Most habitual thieves and burglars in Glen Town deal with the White Bear Gang. They take the things they steal to the gang in exchange for money. The White Bear Gang helps them sell the goods, of course, for a certain 'handling fee.'"
"So, if you can make a trip to the White Bear Gang's hideout, you should be able to find that treasure map there."
Sifa straightened his back and smiled. "Then where is the White Bear Gang's hideout?"
It was late at night when Sifa appeared on Moon Ship Street in Glen Town. There was almost no one on the street, and the gas lamps along the road gave off a hazy yellow light.
Fine snowflakes drifted lightly down from the night sky, settling on windowsills, treetops, and streetlamps, piling into
