The blue-eyed man who claimed to be the first mate sneered. "Are you questioning our captain? Then you'd better pray you never appear on any bounty poster."
The middle-aged man's expression changed at once. "Perhaps I remembered wrong," he said fearfully.
The blue-eyed man snorted. "Don't say I never gave you a chance. Our captain is recruiting crew members right now. It would be your honor to work with such a great man and embark on adventures at sea together."
"So what's it going to be? Do you refuse or agree?"
He pulled a revolver from beneath his clothes and slammed it onto the bar, making his threat unmistakable.
Sifa understood. This man was using his name to press people into service. Once aboard, they would probably be forced to perform all kinds of hard labor, very likely without receiving any pay.
