The place was just as it had been before. Thick carpets covered the floor, woven with Balam-style patterns. Even beneath their coating of dust, they still held considerable value.
Everything else-the bookcases, display cabinets, chandelier, and golden candlesticks-remained in its original position. Even the collection room Sifa, the Iceberg Admiral, and the others had opened previously had been restored to its former state.
Having been here once before, Sifa immediately rushed toward the golden ship's wheel hanging on the wall behind the desk.
Kardashian's gaze, however, settled on the skeleton dressed like a captain behind the desk. She said softly, "Tamira, you fulfilled your duty after all."
Sifa looked toward her as he turned the wheel.
"He was one of my teacher's students, and also his stand-in. His name was Tamira. He was a Spirit Medium," Kardashian explained softly.
That confirmed Sifa's earlier speculation about the skeleton. A series of clicks from inside the wall brought his attention back, and he saw the wall behind the display cabinet slide inward and part to either side, revealing the collection room.
Sifa clapped his hands and had two Zombies carry lanterns inside, leaving the other soldiers outside. He and Kardashian followed the two Zombies into the collection room.
"Knowing your teacher as you do, where do you think he would have sealed Abrio's spirit?" Sifa began searching through objects that might contain Abrio's sealed spirit.
Kardashian stared blankly at Akshay's self-portrait instead, then said, "After the Underworld Emperor fell, our kingdom underwent tremendous upheaval. Everyone felt despair. Only my teacher persisted in searching for a way to bring the Underworld Emperor back."
"But many people in the country couldn't understand him at the time, much less support him. That deeply disappointed my teacher, and ultimately led him
