Beside Klein lay a dark gold brooch shaped like a sunbird and the Black Emperor Card. With his experience of removing Amon's parasitic presence from Little Sun last time, Klein had prepared for the possibility that Chariot had been parasitized as soon as he received the news of Chariot's encounter with Amon. He was ready to rid a Tarot Club member of Amon.
But as he observed the scene of the prayer transmitted through the crimson star, he saw Chariot in a washroom. No transparent, illusory figure was wrapped around him, nor was there any sign of a suspicious young man wearing a crystal monocle.
Chariot had not been parasitized by Amon. Klein was certain of that, and he breathed a slight sigh of relief before adjusting his posture and replying in a casual tone.
"I understand."
After replying to Chariot, Klein did not let down his guard.
Chariot went to Gulain City, and Amon went there too. What was he doing there?
What a headache. Why are Amon's avatars everywhere? I only just learned that Amon the Blasphemer was on his way to Backlund, and now one of his avatars has appeared in Gulain City too.
I don't know enough about Amon. Hmm, the old man inside our dear Poet is an Angel of the Marauder pathway. Perhaps I can get more information about Amon from him?
Although I'm still not entirely certain where that old man stands, I believe he definitely doesn't want to be caught by Amon. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. On that basis, I have reason to believe he'll provide the help I need.
Klein raised his head again and looked into the crimson star. He had yet to sever his connection with Chariot, and through this prayer
