Between Blue Tree Island and the Dark Corridor lay a passage the Snake-Haired Folk called the "Bloodstained Road." For about one week each month, this passage emerged above the sea; the rest of the time, it was submerged by the tides.
Whenever the passage surfaced, the Half-Beasts of the Dark Corridor would organize an attack. The last time a large number of Half-Beasts invaded Blue Tree Island was when the passage had emerged from the sea.
To stop the Half-Beasts' attacks, whenever the passage surfaced, the Snake-Haired Folk would guard the entrance tightly and use every means possible to drive back the Half-Beasts advancing along it.
Each clash was so brutal that the passage would be soaked in the blood of Demi-Humans, hence the name "Bloodstained Road."

At eight in the morning, Sifa stood at the edge of Blue Tree Island, watching a sea passage connected to the distant Dark Corridor gradually emerge below. It was made up of a continuous stretch of reefs, some several meters long and wide, others no more than large enough to stand on.
Moreover, because they were submerged by the tides most of the time, the reefs were extremely slippery when they emerged. Usually, the Half-Beasts would not launch an invasion until two or three days after the passage appeared, when the water on the reefs had dried under the sun and travel became easier.
Clearly, Sifa had no intention of letting the reefs dry for a day or two. He leaped down to the start of the passage with a faint smile, his entire body breaking apart into clusters of crimson flames before transforming into a massive Flame Spear that whistled along the Bloodstained Road toward the distant
