It was as though the scene of the Snake-Haired Folk being driven onto the Holy Mountain had repeated itself. This time, however, it was the Half-Beasts who had been forced to make a desperate stand atop the cliffs.
The Winged Folk had quietly eliminated all the sentry posts along the mountain path. By the time the Half-Beasts realized what was happening, the Demi-Humans were already storming up the mountain. Caught completely off guard, the barbarians retreated again and again.
However, nearly all the Half-Beasts remaining in the Dark Corridor had gathered here, and their numbers were still considerable. After the initial confusion, they began to hold their ground.
Meanwhile, the mountain path offered limited space. Although the entire Demi-Human army had poured onto it, only a small portion could reach the clifftop.
Only the Winged Folk and the Wind Twisters among the Demi-Humans could bypass the terrain, flying up to the summit to support the ground troops' assault.
Of course, Sifa had anticipated this situation before launching the all-out attack. For this battle, he had therefore placed the tough, thick-skinned Gray Dwarves, most of whom followed the Warrior Pathway, in the vanguard.
With support from the Winged Folk, the Gray Dwarves quickly charged onto the summit. Once they had established a foothold, they obeyed Sifa's orders and refrained from pushing recklessly deeper. Instead, they spread out into a defensive line, using enormous shields forged by Artisans to withstand the Half-Beasts' attacks. This opened up enough space for the Demi-Human troops behind them to reach the summit and join the battle.
Sifa knew he could not remain in the Demi-Human Sea on this side of the Berserk Sea all the time, nor could he always resolve every problem the Demi-Humans faced in time. Thus, in this battle, he and his own
