When the potion entered his mouth, Sifa thought he had swallowed a bottle of lava!
It had no temperature at all, yet it made Sifa feel as though his entire body were burning. Then he really did burst into flames!
The Demi-Humans and Half-Beasts on the mountaintop all saw Sifa's body suddenly dissolve into masses of crimson flame, while his clothes and trousers remained intact. This was very different from the way he usually dissolved into flames to become a Flame Spear.
The crimson flames into which Sifa had dissolved were gradually deepening in color. Within each mass of flame were three-dimensional, layered symbols, all carrying vast amounts of information and mystical knowledge.
After the potion entered Sifa's body, the flames that remained gathered together, barely maintaining a human shape, seemed to possess their own spirituality and wills. Each tore away some of the potion, evaporating it within the flames to form smoke the color of bloodstained rust.
The smoke shrouded Sifa's figure, preventing the Demi-Humans from seeing him anymore.
Without a sound, Sifa felt as though every nerve in his body and every strand of his will had been thrown into searing lava. The burning agony made him want to cry out, but his current state left him unable to speak, let alone scream.
Then Sifa "saw" some of his past experiences.
He saw himself leading the undead army bestowed by the Celeste against the Evil Spirit demigod aboard the Styx Ruler. He saw himself leading the Explorer's crew in an assault on the rebel headquarters, leading the Projection Legion to drive the monsters out of the Scaled Folk Archipelago, and leading the Demi-Human army against the Dark Corridor.
These experiences, events, and details joined together, forming strong, resilient "threads" that helped Sifa bind the fragments of his will
