In the Dangerous Sea, inside the Argo's wheelhouse.
Bernadette still did not understand what Odys meant. "What's wrong?"
"Something about the exploration feels off," Odys said. "Not just how we obtained the Sealed Artifact. The whole affair feels wrong.
"Edwina and I found a lead on a demigod-level Sealed Artifact. Yet the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom let a lead that important leak to two other churches.
"And the Dangerous Sea wasn't dangerous today. Just as we were about to leave, a demigod from the Storm Church happened to find this place and tried to stop us.
"Why were the angels of all three churches already facing off in the Spirit World?
"A Level 1 Sealed Artifact might attract their attention, but it shouldn't bring all of them here at the same time, much less lead to a standoff. I just... I feel like something about all of this is wrong."
Bernadette frowned too. Realizing that something was amiss, she rose and paced the cabin for about half a minute before stopping abruptly. "A Spectator!"
Odys thought of Adam at once. The whole affair had begun in a church of the Ancient Sun God, which must once have been one of Adam's bases.
Just then, a gentle voice sounded behind them. "You worked that out yourself. That saves me an explanation."
Bernadette froze. She had sensed no one at all where the voice had come from!
She hurried to reach for the Sage Diadem.
Odys seized both her arms in alarm. "Don't do anything! Don't do anything!"
He knew that even Bernadette with her two Level 0 Sealed Artifacts, together with the three angels outside, was no match for the one who had just spoken.
Under these circumstances, doing nothing rash was their best choice.
Bernadette stiffened.
