Odys was about to write his reply when something occurred to him. He asked the messenger, "Is it still appropriate to have you deliver my letters?"

Ellebella was an Angel now, after all. In any organization, someone at her level was an important figure. Having her run errands delivering letters seemed absurd.

Ellebella said, "I don't mind. I haven't had much to do lately anyway."

Odys thought for a moment before saying, "How about this? I'll still summon you to deliver important letters, but I'll find another way to send the less important ones.

"But if anyone else summons you, please keep answering them."

Ellebella nodded. "All right."

After the messenger vanished from the office, Odys finished his reply. He considered it for a moment, drew the Gus Staff, and used Reproduction.

A bird half as tall as a person immediately appeared beside his desk. It had broad wings and a long tail. The long feathers on its back, wings,

and tail were azure, while the shorter feathers on its chest and belly were pale.

What Odys had reproduced was the Azure Bird of myth, said to be the Queen Mother of the West's messenger.

His reply to Klein was not especially important, so Odys decided to try sending it with this long-tailed Azure Bird. When he told it whom the letter was for, the bird dipped its head, took the letter in its beak, and flew into the illusory realm.

Watching it leave, Odys sighed inwardly. Beyonder powers really are convenient.

He had not even needed to give it an address. Under normal circumstances, the Azure Bird could find the recipient through the mystical connections linking the sender, the letter, and the recipient.
