Odys had successfully advanced, and with Adam watching from the side, the Hidden Sage had no time to argue with him. He immediately turned into a torrent of information and fled.
"Thank you," Odys said to Adam.
Adam looked at Odys. "It's good to have you back."
With that, he vanished into the air.
Odys then turned to Arianna. "Thank you for your help."
Arianna smiled faintly and left with Archbishop Anthony and the other demigod.
Odys also thanked the two demigods from the Church of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom. After exchanging a few pleasantries with Edwina, they left as well.
At the border between Lenburg and the Republic of Intis,
the God of Steam and Machinery and the God of Knowledge and Wisdom both seemed to realize that Odys had completed his advancement.
The colorless, faintly ethereal ball of pale light rapidly retreated, preparing to return to the Astral World.
On the Lenburg side, the tower made of books suddenly spoke in a resounding voice: "You have no chance left."
The ball of light visibly paused. In the next instant, he vanished completely from the Real World.
The tower of books disappeared too, leaving behind a vast stretch of mutated plants and animals.
On a barren mountain outside Isara.
Odys looked at Hermes and Constantine. The two Angels, one old and one young, knelt before him on one knee. With tears in their eyes, they said together, "Great Sage, we welcome your return to the world."
From the memories he had just gained, Odys learned that Hermes had once been one of the Ten Pillars of the Moses Ascetic Order. It was in that scholarly atmosphere that Hermes had invented a mystical language for humanity.
In the Fourth Epoch, however, the Sage had sent him to help
