Odys looked at the two planes before him and could not help smiling.
When it came to building things, Beyonders of the Savant Pathway really were the ones to call.
They had produced two prototypes so quickly. Even the welds on their surfaces were neat; they were not covered in rivets like the old-fashioned planes Odys remembered.
Bevis had not understood what the president meant by "vertical takeoff and landing." Worried that he had misunderstood the request, he asked, "Are you satisfied with them?"
"Very!" Odys smiled. "Let's see them fly."
"Of course." At Bevis's command, the Anti-Gravity Formations beneath the planes were exposed and activated. The Wisdom Cubes aboard then automatically activated the Levitation Arrays inside the fuselages.
The two planes rose slowly, then climbed faster and faster. The smaller plane reached its jet-engagement altitude first. Blazing white flames suddenly burst from its tail, propelling it sharply forward.
Odys marveled inwardly once again: They went straight to jet planes!
After its sudden acceleration, the smaller plane quickly climbed. With the help of its wings, it reached an altitude of several hundred meters and began circling.
Only after the smaller plane had completed two circuits did flames begin to jet from the larger plane's tail. It climbed more slowly, but kept rising. Soon it was so high that Odys could barely make it out.
Ordinary people, and even Beyonders below Demi-God level, would never notice an aircraft at that altitude.
Yet it continued climbing until it passed above the clouds and vanished completely.
Odys nodded in satisfaction. "The members of this project team deserve more than bonuses. I'm giving them raises, too.
