It was a large, fully automated weapon. No human operator was needed. Rows of lights showed its charging progress and status, while streams of flashing data issued silent commands.
It looked like an umbrella. The enormous canopy gathered Spirituality more effectively, while the handle served as its "barrel."
In fact, the handle was a pressure regulator, not a barrel. The concentration of Spirituality required was so high that, without pressure reduction, it could easily trigger a reaction resembling nuclear fusion.
This was the choice Odys had ultimately made. He had considered building a nuclear bomb himself, and he had succeeded.
But while a Beyonder Nuclear Bomb was more powerful than a conventional one, the Beyonder disaster it caused afterward was far worse.
First, any creatures that survived the blast would mutate within moments, becoming highly aggressive and almost entirely mindless. Beyonders were no exception. They mutated even faster, and the monsters they became were stronger.
The Beyonder nuclear blast would also rupture the barrier between the Real World and the Spirit World. Great numbers of Spirit World Creatures would flood into the Real World, causing a second wave of devastation.
Then came the third wave. As the Real World and Spirit World merged, the local environment would change drastically, becoming much like the Berserk Sea and utterly unfit for human habitation. Monsters would also keep emerging to harass the surrounding areas.
After a long hesitation, Odys decided to pursue another line of research. Otherwise, even if he used Beyonder Nuclear Bombs against his enemies, all he would gain was territory overrun with monsters.
