Changes in the "Knowledge Moor"

Before Odys lay the familiar wilderness, glowing with illusory light and seeming to have no definite form.

Yet deep within the wilderness, the tower composed of faintly glowing spheres no longer appeared so illusory. The entire tower had actually gained a slight sense of substance.

Odys stood and observed it for a while before entering the tower.

There were not many changes inside. A Magic Formation had appeared beside the "Central Simulator."

With a single glance, he determined that it was a Teleportation Array.

Immediately afterward, the corresponding operational knowledge entered Odys's mind. More precisely, it was a formation that allowed the outside world and the "Knowledge Moor" to exchange things with each other.

In the Real World, as long as the corresponding secondary formation was drawn, material objects from the Real World could be teleported into the "Knowledge Moor."

This was a new ability Odys had gained in the "Knowledge Moor" after advancing. Though it could only teleport inanimate objects, it was extremely practical.

Odys exclaimed, "I have storage space now too!"

His test subjects and gold pounds could all be teleported here. This place was far safer than any bank.

He had already decided to draw a fixed formation in the basement of his residence, then draw another formation on cloth that he could carry with him at any time.

Next, Odys reached out and touched the "Central Simulator," querying its records with his thoughts. He soon discovered that his access privileges had indeed become higher.

For example, he could now look up the potion formulas for Sequence 9 and Sequence 8 of the Mystery Pryer, Savant, and Reader Pathways.

He had not expected a Reader Pathway to be added!

But a new problem lay before Odys. "Why does it only go up to Sequence 8?"

That was pretty damn ridiculous. After advancing, he could obtain more potion formulas, yet there was no formula for further advancement!

Odys found it somewhat amusing and helpless. Then he recalled the Roselle's Diary he had seen earlier and continued searching for the Occult Symbols used by the Elves.

Previously, he had been unable to find any information about the Elves. Today, however, he could indeed find the Occult Symbols they used.

Not only could he find the Occult Symbols of the Elves, but also those used by Dragons and Giants.

Comparing those Occult Symbols, Odys quickly discovered that the Occult Symbols now widely used across the Southern and Northern Continents had evolved from those of the Giantfolk and Dragonfolk, two extraordinary races.

They mainly came from the Giantfolk. The Dragonfolk's occult theories seemed to differ from those of humanoid creatures, and their Occult Symbols contained many dragon-related elements.

As for the Occult Symbols of the Elves, they belonged to an entirely different system.

Odys mused, My previous guess was right. The Elves came from the Western Continent, and their occult concepts are completely different from those of the Southern and Northern Continents. That must be why Elven Magic Formations seem so much more powerful.

Unfortunately, Odys still could not look up Elven Magic Formations. He could only access the formations used by human forebears during the Second Epoch. Apparently, he would have to advance again before gaining access to the relevant knowledge.

The formations used by human forebears were clearly different from modern ones. There were no standards such as Pentagrams or Hexagrams. Many formations were square, trapezoidal, or even polygonal.

Their functions were more varied than those of modern formations, and they were also more powerful.

This also matched Odys's earlier speculation. With the arrival of the Third Epoch, the Ancient Sun God used the Blasphemy Slate to further spread potion formulas among humanity, allowing humans to become Beyonders with relative safety.

Research into Magic Formations would then gradually decline, until vast amounts of related knowledge vanished into the river of history. By the present day, the decorative function of Magic Formations had become greater than their practical use.

Odys's core research was, in fact, the study of spirituality. Those findings had given Magic Formations, forgotten by people, new applications.

Although he could only access the Occult Symbols of ancient extraordinary races such as the Elves, that was already quite good for Odys. Their Occult Symbols were more complete than the human magic symbols that still existed. Odys's current research into deriving Occult Symbols had been proceeding with great difficulty, and these complete systems of magic symbols served as excellent references.

After understanding all that, Odys finally began today's research.

He planned to set aside his original project for the time being and study a new subject today: could the extraordinary knowledge within a Beyonder Characteristic be extracted and infused into another person's mind?

After advancing to Melee Scholar, Odys had experienced the extraordinary knowledge and fighting techniques acquired from the Beyonder Characteristic. It was a marvelous experience. He possessed that knowledge without needing to study it, much like the "heaven-bestowed knowledge" Odys had heard of before.

That gave him some crooked ideas. If that occult knowledge and those fighting techniques could be infused into an ordinary person's mind, that ordinary person would instantly become an occult expert and fighting master.

Of course, ordinary people had not had their bodies reshaped by potions, so they would still need time to train before mastering those fighting techniques.

But that would still be far easier than normal practice. Under normal learning methods, one had to continuously train in order to grasp the mysteries of combat.

If those fighting techniques were infused instead, one would first possess the corresponding combat experience. Training would then become a process of putting it into practice, and the speed at which one mastered the techniques would naturally be much faster.

However, even after mastering that occult knowledge and those fighting techniques, they would still fall far short of a true Melee Scholar because they lacked a real Melee Scholar's rapid reactions and thinking ability.

But this was something that could be used on a massive scale. If there were enough Beyonder Characteristics and spirituality, then theoretically, everyone in Backlund could become an occult expert and fighting master.

This was only a hypothesis. Odys currently had only one Melee Scholar Beyonder Characteristic in his hands. If his research succeeded, he merely intended to cultivate a few assistants knowledgeable in occultism for himself when needed.

As the research progressed, Odys encountered two problems. The first was how to extract the knowledge from a Beyonder Characteristic. The second was how to infuse that knowledge into an ordinary person's mind.

Fortunately, he could now look up some Magic Formations once drawn by ancient forebears. One such formation could extract useful extraordinary information from the corpses of extraordinary creatures.

Humans had been extremely weak at that time, and their grasp of Beyonder powers and occultism had been far inferior to that of those enormous extraordinary creatures.

Thus, their thirst for knowledge led them to invent this formation, hoping to obtain the occult knowledge and extraordinary knowledge they needed after killing extraordinary creatures.

However, this formation still required extensive modification before it could meet Odys's requirements.

The other problem could be solved with a modern Magic Formation called "Telepathy." By sitting within the formation, there was a tiny chance of sensing the thoughts of the person beside you.

This formation required even more modifications and could only be used as a reference.
