While Owen was having an audience with George III, Abner used the illusory White Angel in the Land of Unknown to pinpoint Black Knight Selo Delien. He then teleported to Selo's hiding place in Trier: an abandoned warehouse.
Selo Delien, or rather Auerbach, had once been the second-to-last pope of the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun. Unlike Richelieu, the last pope, who now resided in the Magic Mirror and had been born a Mythical Creature, Selo had started out as an ascetic. He cared little about his surroundings.
But the so-called Divine Sword, one of the Three Divine Artifacts Abner had left in his care, had a taste for luxury. It hated the warehouse and had protested many times, only to be ignored.
"Selo, why are you even more stubborn than Charlie? With your Black Knight abilities, you could graze a Faceless and change your appearance at will. You're not short of money, so why insist on living somewhere this filthy and damp?"
Selo had long since grown used to the Divine Sword's endless chatter. The sword was, after all, the Evil Spirit of Andre, a former patriarch of the Church of Combat. He had no intention of responding, but suddenly sensed something and rose to look toward the door.
Abner came into view.
"My lord." Selo stood and bowed.
At the same moment, the Divine Sword cried out as if it had seen a savior. "You're finally here!"
Abner nodded to Selo, then looked at the Divine Sword. Somehow, it seemed far more agitated than when he had first met it.
"This subordinate of yours is far too quiet! He's said fewer than ten sentences the entire time!" the Divine Sword complained.
*So that's what's been eating at you? Don't tell me the Church of Combat's former patriarch
