Through Rewind, Abner learned that it had come from an Ancient Dragon Cheek had killed. Stiano later fashioned it into a Mystical Item, and Cheek had worn it until she became a god.
Only after advancing to Primordial Demoness had Cheek left the Discerner Robe with the Demoness Sect, entrusting it to her child Ushaha.
The robe could change its appearance to suit its wearer's wishes, but it was fundamentally an Imagination, much like the emperor's new clothes. There was no actual fabric.
