Intis, Trier.
A few months ago, the Descent of the Abyss—though it had officially been declared a "great earthquake"—had caused the Triumphal Arch to collapse and reduced the Prime Minister's residence and the parliament building to ruins. As a result, Intis's political center had temporarily moved back to White Maple Palace.
Along with the change in the political center came a change in the political system. Intis had currently suspended the republican system it had practiced for over a century and reverted to Roselle's early model of rule by a "Consul."
The first Grand Consul after the reform had already been elected. Surprisingly, the position had not gone to a member of the Sauron Family, but to John Fleys, the former Speaker of the National Assembly.

It was precisely because the Fleys had contributed so much to overthrowing the Delien Family that the Eternal Blazing Sun Church had fully supported John Fleys's rise when selecting the Grand Consul.
After its own candidate withdrew from the contest, the Church of Steam had likewise been unwilling to see the Saurons take power, so it had shifted its support to the Fleys.
The members of the two Churches had thought that suppressing the Saurons like this would provoke a fierce backlash from the former Angel Family. Unexpectedly, they had calmly accepted
