The interior of the Black Emperor's mausoleum was completely empty. Aside from the pitch-black walls and the raised platform at the center, there was nothing.

Upon the platform stood a chair seemingly made for a Giant. It appeared to be forged of iron, its surface engraved with intricate, twisted, bizarre patterns, while the top of its backrest extended upward into the shape of a crown.

At that moment, there was apparently no figure seated upon the heavy, enormous chair, as though it were waiting for its emperor to return.

Yet in Abner and Bernadette's eyes, a black shadow sat upon it, examining their clasped hands...

When they were still more than ten meters away from the platform, Abner took the initiative to stop and released Bernadette's hand.

Bernadette stood there blankly, staring at the central platform and the black figure. Her expression revealed a sorrow she could neither conceal nor wished to conceal.

She could sense it. She could now be certain that the black figure was her father, the man who called himself Caesar—Roselle Gustav.

The next second, more cracks split open across the black figure, revealing blood-red things within that resembled moonlight. They crookedly formed a pair of eyes and a mouth.

"You should count yourselves fortunate that I am currently awake. Otherwise, the moment I saw you just now, you would already be dead!" said the shadow—Roselle—in a cold tone.

But he immediately turned his gaze toward Bernadette, more than ten meters away, and laughed dryly and hoarsely:

"You have truly become a major figure in the mystical world. You have even become an Angel...

"Come here. Let me see clearly what my little princess looks like now."

Bernadette's eyes suddenly reddened. Just as she was about to step forward, Abner reached out and held her back.
