The Memoirs of Stewart ended there so abruptly that Abner finally understood how Xio had felt after finishing Ailan's biography.
"The most valuable part of this book is the incomplete Mysticism Mentor formula at the end. It names only one main ingredient and two supplementary ingredients... and says nothing about the ritual. Still, it's valuable. At least I can start gathering some of the materials!
"Besides that, Stewart's approach during his Polymath stage is worth studying... That was probably his attempt at Acting, too. Heh, it's a lot like what I had in mind. I should keep moving toward 'solving problems with knowledge, winning supporters, then having those supporters spread my reputation for erudition so that more people come to me with their problems'..."
With that in mind, Abner carefully committed everything in the biography to memory. Only then did he set it aside and pick up another ancient book, this one written on parchment.
He opened it and found a line of Intisian on the inner page: "Roselle's Dream Spell."
Roselle's Dream Spell? Wasn't that a Secret Art Vice Admiral Iceberg knew? If I remember the original story correctly, Edwina used it to teach Danitz in his dreams from hundreds of nautical miles away...
Come to think of it, this is a useful Secret Art. It allows long-distance communication, and you can teach someone in the relative privacy of a dream...
Wait. If I learn this Secret Art and combine it with the Spirit Descent Ritual, I could enter the dreams of people in trouble as Doctor Strange... That might work very well for my Acting...
As Abner rubbed the pages of Roselle's Dream Spell between his fingers, all sorts of new ideas came to him. He still needed to work out the details, though.
