At the sight of Closia's smile, Abner inexplicably recalled Dunn's embarrassing performance in the "dream" back in Enmat Harbor. A chill ran down his spine, but he forced himself to remain calm and asked:
"Miss Closia, what do you want me to do?"
Closia smiled at him, tossed the towel she had used to dry her hair onto the sofa, and, instead of making her request, began explaining something else:
"After you take the Mysticism Mentor Potion, the core ability of you Polymaths undergoes a qualitative leap. You'll involuntarily start analyzing the nature of your own Beyonder Abilities... Inevitably, that analysis goes too deep and touches the Mental Pollution within your Beyonder Characteristic.
"That's when you need Soothing to keep the Mental Pollution from causing a Loss of Control. You need Intimidation to throw your mind into disarray, disrupting the urge to probe deeper that the Potion creates. Finally, you need Suggestion to make you act against your true will. The powerful resistance that provokes in your mind wakes you up and stops you from becoming lost in the process.
"The eyes are windows to the soul, so an Adult Mind Dragon's gaze contains all three abilities. If it's willing to cooperate, it really is the best choice for the ritual...
"But for Beyonders of the Spectator Pathway like me, using our abilities isn't so straightforward. We have to keep adjusting to your condition, and that isn't easy... Not every Spectator can strike the right balance...
"And there are even fewer with as much experience as I have."
At first, Abner thought Closia was explaining the principles behind the Mysticism Mentor advancement ritual. But as she went on, he began to catch her drift.
*After all that talk, isn't she just making it sound difficult so she can drive up
