Seeing a Giant over four meters tall prostrate himself on the ground, not even daring to raise his head before Mr. Azik spoke, Abner could hardly believe this was the same man who had spoken with him earlier...
Only then did Abner truly grasp the authority the title "Death Archon" held over Dead Spirits!
Giant Lord Levin might well possess Demigod-level strength, but he had died long ago. Now he was merely a spirit who had been fortunate enough to become a guardian of the Underworld. Before Mr. Azik, he had no power to resist... He might not even be capable of considering it.
So Abner was struck by the sight, but not particularly surprised. What worried him instead was Mr. Azik's condition.
What did he encounter in those Underworld ruins? How could he have changed so much?
While Abner wondered about this, Mr. Azik studied Levin for a few moments, as though trying to recall something. Then he spoke in a low voice:
"What did Tana give you in exchange?"
Tana? If I remember correctly, that was the name of the Second Baron Ramde—Mr. Azik's son, whose corpse Ince Zangwill destroyed...
Yes. The knight I saw during Rewind, the one who looked somewhat like Mr. Azik and took the Conqueror Characteristic at the end, must have been him.
He must have made a deal with Levin to enter the Underworld and retrieve that strange crown covered in rust and bloodstains. After all, Tana was a Demigod at most. He could control spirits to some extent, but he certainly couldn't suppress Levin the way Mr. Azik could.
But judging from what I saw during Rewind, Mr. Azik came here once twelve years ago... Why didn't he ask about it then?
Or did he ask, only to forget again?
