Within the temporary "screening room" at the top of the Round Tower in the City of Silver, Derrick awkwardly manipulated the "Square Canon," projecting scene after scene onto the Curtain—images so shocking that even he could hardly bear to look away.
Yet, so as not to botch things, he forcibly suppressed his curiosity and turned his gaze aside, devoting himself wholeheartedly to operating the "Square Canon."
The Curtain first showed a broad but slightly murky river rushing past. A magnificent bridge spanned the river, while docks lined both banks in orderly succession...
Cargo was being moved busily, and voices filled the air.
This sight, filled with light and "human presence," immediately captured the full attention of the elders of the "Six-Member Council."
So this was what the outside world looked like? An environment without the slightest hint of corruption or mutation?
Inside the temporary screening room, everyone, including Elder Lovia the "Shepherd," sincerely experienced the joy brought by this "human presence."
