Abner realized he had fallen into a mistaken line of thinking and began to reflect.
The Goddess opposed Roselle's resurrection plan. Only he, who knew he had no way to release Zaratul's Historical Image, and a handful of gods familiar with the Transmigrators of past generations knew that...
But to outsiders—or rather, to Outer Deities—it probably looked as though the Goddess had sent him to rescue Roselle!
That was a deliberate misdirection!
Roselle had built the Dream Labyrinth Tower and gone to great lengths to resurrect a separated fragment of his soul. He must have been influenced by the Mother Goddess of Depravity... Or even if the idea had originally been his own, something had certainly gone wrong while he was setting it up!
It was just like when his original body had tried to use the Black Emperor's return to cleanse its corruption, only to place the final mausoleum on that problematic island.
The Mother Goddess of Depravity had already invested heavily in this. If she believed she had successfully deceived the Evernight Goddess and the God of Knowledge, she would never give up easily. She would probably keep raising the stakes... And that might be exactly what the gods had planned.
As for which god was behind it? Abner was certain it was Lilith. From the start, she had acted as though the matter had nothing to do with her and declared herself neutral, yet she was the only one who could intervene near the Chaos Sea!
The disagreements and clashes over details between the God of Knowledge and the Evernight Goddess were probably just there to make the act more convincing.
In the Mother Goddess of Depravity's eyes, either form of Roselle's resurrection would likely be acceptable. She could use either one to seep more of her
