The Shadow World? What was that?
Some kind of world like the Spirit World? But I've never read that name in any book on mysticism...
Klein looked at the diary entry and found himself asking the same questions as Roselle.
Its form of existence was similar to the Seven Lights of the Spirit World... But I don't even know what the Seven Lights really are. All I know is that they formed an organization called the Pure Light Brotherhood...
That told me absolutely nothing!
After a few more complaints, Klein turned the parchment over and continued reading. Unfortunately, the entry on the back was from an entirely different date and had nothing to do with the previous one. It was all about Roselle's intimate encounters with various ladies.
The only noteworthy detail was that these ladies were all wives or daughters of clergy from the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun.
At the end, Roselle remarked that some members of the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun devoted themselves entirely to their faith and paid almost no attention to their families. They did not even care that he was comforting their loved ones. Even in open-minded Intis, they stood apart.
He emphasized that other members of the clergy were completely different. Though they too believed in the Eternal Blazing Sun and were quite devout, they had not lost themselves and seemed rather more human...
Stranger still, the two groups got along harmoniously, with no outward sign of conflict.
"That sounds like fanatics and casual believers... Getting along so well... Are the Eternal Blazing Sun's believers simply that decent?"
After thinking for a moment and getting nowhere, Klein let the matter drop. He leaned back, made the parchment in his hand disappear, and said with a smile:
"You may begin."
No
