"Spectacular, isn't it? Unfortunately, this 'city' still has a lot of unresolved problems. It can't actually take to the air yet..." Since Gehrman was Abner's friend, Jane made a rare effort to explain. "Because it's still just for show, some visitors mock it as 'Klaus's Folly'...

"But they signed Contracts and can't talk about what they saw here. They can only make indirect remarks. As the story spread, Master Klaus ended up with that rather unflattering nickname, the 'Fool of Nass'...

"Fortunately, Master Klaus doesn't mind."

As she spoke, Jane led Klein into the engine car of a steam train. A whistle sounded, and the engine slowly started moving. It gathered speed along the rails, spiraling upward toward the platform at the top of Upside-Down Peak.

Once the train had climbed to a certain height, Klein switched Creeping Hunger to the Wind-blessed soul, ready to save himself if anything went wrong. Then he looked out the window at his surroundings.

They were in an enormous underground space. Even the mountain-sized Floating City occupied less than a third of it. Countless supports extended from all six directions—front, back, left, right, above, and below—to hold Upside-Down Peak in place and keep it from tipping over.

The space is so regular. It doesn't look natural... But excavating an underground chamber this large in the Gargas Archipelago can't be the work of a single Alchemist...

Even if he'd been willing to dig it out slowly, the Church of Combat isn't blind. There's no way they'd have missed something on this scale.

And that's not even counting the Floating City itself: an enormous mountain turned upside down. Cutting out a mountain like that and moving it here would be harder still!

It might take the help of an Angel or a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact.
