"Welcome, Ms. Briar!"
Geeta, chairwoman of the Paldea League, smiled warmly as she shook the excited Briar's hand.
"Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Chairwoman Geeta!" Briar said gratefully.
"Not at all. We're always glad to welcome outstanding researchers to explore and study our region. Area Zero was fraught with danger until recently, so we couldn't approve your application at the time..."
Geeta gave a brief explanation.
It was much as Baimu had expected. After the Future Swords of Justice and the Ancient Ho-Oh Guard had been dealt with, conditions throughout Area Zero had become remarkably peaceful.
During the days they had spent visiting Blueberry Academy, the Paradox Pokémon had been involved in only a few minor clashes.
That was why Geeta had approved Briar's request to investigate.
Apparently, all the Elite Four had now withdrawn from Area Zero, allowing the Paldea League outside to resume normal operations.
"Please make sure you all stay safe on this trip."
Geeta cautioned them, "Our exploration of Area Zero has barely scratched the surface, let alone the even more mysterious cavern beneath it. Even the materials Professor Turo left behind say very little about it."
Professor Turo had deleted the plans for the Time Machine, and even Turo AI had no memory of them. Once the prototype had been moved, no one had dared take it apart.
They were afraid they would never be able to put it back together.
"With the Orre Champion and a Paldea Champion helping us, we'll be fine," Briar said with a smile.
"Hehehe."
Nemona looked a little embarrassed by the praise, especially with the Top Champion standing right there.
After exchanging pleasantries, the group set off for
